Abstract
This study shows different senses(meanings) of the word "if" in the speech of Arabs: verse and prose and specially in Quranic text and the possibility of its variety in its syntactic context with reference to its straightness specific and general meanings. This research presents the literary meaning of 'if' and its kinds, then it explains its meanings for the Arabic scholars through the following research aspects:
-Prohibited conditional 'if', and its meanings, rules and its answer
-Non- prohibited conditional 'if', and its meanings and rules.
-The mutual constrains between the two conditions of ' if' followed by some Quranic texts
