The Mental Skills Implied in the Questions and Activities of the Computer Textbooks for the Preparatory Stage According to Marzano's Model

Abstract

The current research aim to find out how often do questions and activities of computer textbooks of the preparatory stage have of the mental skills according to Marzano’s model, In order to achieve the goal of the research and answering its questions the researcher adopted the rating Marzano’s mental skills tool which is a list that includes (8) major mental skills and (21) sub mental skills under which the questions and activities were analyzed for computer textbooks for the academic year 2016-2017 m. The researcher followed the descriptive analytical research method (content analysis). Result show that questions and activities of the computer textbook for the fourth grade preparatory highest repeation of the mental skills (166) out of (262) over the entire two textbooks and a percentage (63.36%).While the questions got retrieval and activity textbooks skill at the highest rate of recurrence (85) the frequency and percentage (32.43%).
